My last class in Illinois – THIS TUESDAY MARCH 12TH!

Please join us at the Naperville Whole Foods for MY LAST COOKING CLASS in Illinois on Tuesday, March 12 at 7:00 PM! I am moving to North Carolina at the end of the month and would love to see everyone before I leave! Be there!

I am teaching my last class before I move to North Carolina at the end of the month.

What am I cooking?

New and creative uses of seasonal produce and see red for dessert – we’re talking Red Velvet! We’ll also make shaved Asparagus Slaw, Meyer Lemon & Fennel Pesto: Serve with gluten-free pasta or braised veggies. Red Velvet Cupcake – Nothing artificial here; pureed beets for a natural red hue and added antioxidants. Also, tips on naturally colored Easter Eggs and how to boil eggs perfectly.

See you there!

  1. Dear Sueson,

I am still shaken by the fact that you are moving! Although I am very happy for you in that you are so deserving of this dream-come-true for you and your husband, I am so disappointed that I have not had more time to “grow” with you. Since my first Naperville Whole Foods class with you just three weeks after my diagnosis in November 2011, you have inspired me to make the most of my situation. At 71 years, initially it was a shock that both frightened and saddened me.

Since then, I have learned much from many resources but none have affected me as much as my encounters with(and inspiration from) you. I am beginning to feel much more empowered but still have so many questions. I was prepared to talk with you at the Wheaton store which you needed to cancel and then, again, this past Tuesday when I learned that you were leaving.

Beyond those questions, having spent 20 years in Fundraising, Management, and Planned Giving with the Chicago Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association at a Local, Regional, Divisional, and National level, I so now feel the need to get more involved with the nuts and bolts of research funding, mentoring, and public eduction programs for Celiac Disease. I had hoped Tuesday evening to invite you to lunch to discuss volunteer opportunities with U of C and now hope that you might be able to link me to someone at the U of C Celiac Disease Center, if you think that I might be able to be of service.

I know how busy you must be in preparing for your departure before the end of the month but I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience. I wish you the very best in your new “job” (you will be GREAT!!!) and hope that you will be so very happy in your new home and surroundings!!! I also hope your new audience will appreciate you as much as so many of us in Chicagoland have and always will!!!

I will always hope and look for a new Gluten-Free segment on the Food Network featuring Master Chef Sueson Vess!

Best wishes and ultimate health always!

    Fondly and with much gratitude,

    Carole Kalus

  2. As sad as I am for the friends you have in IL, I’m checking where you will be in NC. My grandson and I are both gluten/dairy free and we need you :o)

    • Jane, I am teaching cooking in the Sandhills area. Look for classes at Elliott’s On Linden in Pinehurst, Natures Own in Southern Pines and FirstHealth in Pinehurst. If you know of a venue that would like gluten-free, dairy-free and more classes, let me know. sueson@specialeats.com
